Project: Environmental scan of human services performance monitoring frameworks

NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ; formerly the NSW Department of Family and Community Services) engaged MHC to conduct a targeted rapid environmental scan of government human services performance monitoring frameworks. The scan combined analysis of current national and international monitoring frameworks, and a rapid review of the peer reviewed literature.

What MHC Did

  • Environmental scans and literature reviews
  • Strategic advice on how to design a human services performance monitoring framework.

Outcome

An MHC environmental scan expertly curates best practice and transferable ideas of direct relevance to the operating contexts of our clients. This scan highlighted relevant existing frameworks and findings in the literature, and provided DCJ with 15 concrete considerations for their work.

Related Projects

MHC was engaged by Cancer Australia who were working in partnership with Cancer Council Australia and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare to support the development a National Cancer Data Framework.

MHC was engaged by Transport for NSW to develop an independent insights report from the NSW Motorcycle Safety Roundtable 2025. The event brought together government agencies, parliamentarians, road safety academics, motorcycle peak bodies and rider trainers to provide valuable insights on motorcycle safety following a concerning rise in motorcycle fatalities in NSW.

MHC was engaged by Transport for NSW (Transport) to write an independent outcomes report from the high profile 2024 NSW Road Safety Forum (Forum). The NSW Road Safety Forum provided an open and collaborative platform to discuss successful ways to reduce road trauma and new opportunities to improve road safety.
