Project: Review of the MRFF Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission

MHC reviewed the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission’s progress in: a) supporting dementia, ageing and aged care research in Australia; and b) meeting the objectives set out in the:

What MHC Did

  • Reviewed research strategy and grant schemes
  • Assessed the progress and impact of research
  • Synthesised findings and advice from a government-appointed expert panel
  • Identified/articulated/developed future directions and improvements for the grant scheme
  • Engaged and consulted with stakeholders (including survey and facilitating workshops)

Outcome

The rigorous strategic review reinforced the Mission’s progress to date and identified strategic opportunities to enhance its impact.

Related Projects

MHC was engaged by Cancer Australia who were working in partnership with Cancer Council Australia and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare to support the development a National Cancer Data Framework.

The Australian Government has engaged MHC and partners (The Sax Institute and Peter Ninnes) to conduct an evaluation of a program to improve the health systems responses to family and domestic violence.

MHC was engaged to support the Department of Education develop its first research strategy.
